Hello! My name is Colin Blackwell and I am a future public relations professional focused on powerful storytelling, especially where sports, entertainment, and culture collide. I am attending the University of Oregon, pursuing a major in public relations while minoring in sports business. With a background in economic development, leadership, and community engagement, I bring a well-rounded perspective to the fast-paced world of PR.
My interest in crisis communication and media relations was sparked by a desire to be the calm in the chaos—to help organizations protect their reputation and communicate clearly when it matters most. So far, I’ve had the opportunity to intern with the City of Oregon City, lead teams as a Head Lifeguard, and volunteer with youth sports programs. Each of these roles has given me a deeper understanding of what it means to be an effective communicator.
Beyond the classroom, I’m driven by curiosity, a love for strategy, and a deep respect for the audiences we serve. Whether it’s crafting a compelling message or helping navigate a high-pressure moment, I thrive at the intersection of empathy and execution. I’m excited to collaborate with professionals who value creativity, accountability, and making a real impact through communication.
